About Design & Company

From concept to completion

Design & Company is a full-service firm creating beautiful interiors throughout Southwest Florida. Established in 2012, we have completed dozens of beautiful custom projects in the area.

Florida native and owner Jennifer Sloan earned her degree in interior design at the New York Institute of Art & Design. With over 25 years of experience, she specializes in helping clients find their unique style. We offer a vast collection of resources, including artisans, vendors, and manufacturers from all over the world. With such a range of beauty at our fingertips, anything is possible!

How the process works:

• First, we help with conceptual design and the overall look and feel. Often, a lookbook or digital design board is provided, which we use as a guide throughout the process. Please refer to our Inspiration tab for examples.

• Then we start carefully designing architectural details and concepts, “the bones of the house.” This step is crucial as the details added to all corners of the home make a job feel cohesive and carefully thought out. Architectural ID drawings may include plan revisions, trim details, reflecting ceiling designs, tile designs, wall details, etc. Please reference our drawings tab for examples.

• From there, it is time to start selecting all building materials, such as wood/stone flooring, tile, cabinets, appliances, plumbing, lighting, countertop material, and all exteriors. We help you every step of the way, making the process fun and exciting. Building or designing a home can be stressful and overwhelming without the help of a seasoned professional.

• After that, we procure furnishings, lighting, window coverings, art, and accessories from over 60 unique vendors and artisans.
